Espen Huxley was a Helghast Black Hand Operative.

Biography[]

Espen left two audiologs, one for his wife and to potential Black Hand recruits, in the event he does not return.

In his first audiolog to his wife, he expressed his hatred for the Vektans and his reasons for doing so is to bring "an age of prosperity and life that all of Helghast deserve," especially for his family that he had hoped one day live in a world without oppression.[1]

In his last recording, he reveals that the situation in Containment City is becoming dangerous, and that new members were welcomed without question. He is also concerned of Vladko Tyran's absence from their meetings. He advised to the person, whom he sent the message to, to join the Black Hand quickly, because he doesn't know how much longer his words will carry any weight.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Espen's words "I look forward to the day my children's children will not know what oppression is, and will only be part of a world that accepts them for who they are" in his first audiolog is similar to a passage from Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
