The HGH Tank is a heavy armored tank of the Helghast Army.

Specifications

As one of the heaviest armored vehicles available to the Helghast Army, the tank is used to lay down heavy fire, always trying to keep its vulnerable rear out of the action. Its main weapons are a twin-mounted rocket launcher with 7 unguided missiles each and a light machine gun similar to the StA-3 Light Machine Gun. A turret mounted StA-3 is sometimes used.

The tank includes a new powerful 1500 shaft horsepower diesel engine with a six speed (four forward, two reverse) Hydro-Kinetic automatic transmission, improved protection (using laminate armor as well as integrated non-explosive-reactive-armor) and modern electronic systems.

Service history

The HGH Tank was widely used by Helghast forces during the Second Extrasolar War in which they were deployed to Vekta and saw combat in Vektan cities such as Diortem. The tanks were present in Operation Archangel and fought against ISA forces in Pyrrhus.

• The tank heavily resembles the British FV-101 Scorpion armoured reconnaissance vehicle and the Russian BMP-T armoured fighting vehicle.
• In Killzone 3, the tank is often seen using its twin mounted rocket launchers as mortars against ISA vehicles and infantry.
• The tanks missiles are capable of destroying the ISA Archer Tank and ISA LS209 Exoskeleton
