Lightning Strike is the third mission in Killzone: Mercenary.

Plot

Two years later, the war has shifted to planet Helghan. The ISA has launched a counter-invasion of Helghan to end the Helghast threat for good. However, the ISA invasion is stalled by anti-orbital Arc Cannons that are preventing the ISA from landing on the planet.

Danner is assigned to disable the Arc Cannons in order to open a window for invading ISA forces. He and along with Carrell are sent to Helghan's surface by Intruder. Though Carrell is killed in the drop-down. Danner single-handedly fight his way and hack into the cannons' targeting dishes, allowing the ISA fleet to take control of the cannons and turning them to turn on Helghast ships.
