It holds six .357 Magnum/9 x 33 R rounds, has iron sights and a double-action trigger. However, you cannot fan the hammer to fire faster. It was designed to be reloaded quickly in combat situations, so rather than replacing the bullets in the ammo cylinder one by one, the entire cylinder is removed and replaced with a loaded one, as a speed-loader system.
It is extremely powerful (especially at short range), but has a rather slow rate of fire for a pistol and a small ammo capacity - meaning that it is important to shoot very accurately when using this weapon. Because of these faults, some players swap the Revolver for the much faster StA18 Pistol during campaigns, when enemies are not as tough.
It is extremely effective in the Killzone 2 Multiplayer, killing all unarmored players in a mere 2 hits, and offing most wounded players in just one. It is unlocked by earning the pistol-based Medal, which requires 8 of the pistol-based ribbons (to earn this kind of ribbon, kill 10 enemies in a round with the pistol, kills by bashing with the pistol included). Note: The Assault badge is the only class that has to be killed with 3 rounds from the revolver.
It appears in Killzone 3, and the Killzone 3 multiplayer as a powerful side arm for most of the available classes. During the earlier stages of the Killzone 3 campaign it is an infinite ammo side arm.
It is interesting that the ISA would chose a revolver as their standard side arm as automatics steadily began replacing revolvers as side arms shortly after the Second World War. Also the .357, while powerful, is not a practical round for combat.
