The Maelstra Barrens is a completely barren stretch of land on Helghan. Debris from many of the ISA Cruisers (including the New Sun) were scattered across the Barrens after Helghast forces led by Colonel Mael Radec attacked Battle Group Mandrake. Pipes that transport refined Petrusite from Tharsis Refinery are spread throughout the Barrens.
