The Mobile Scan Unit is a Helghast drone specialized in proximity defense. It is first encountered during the events of Killzone Shadow Fall on Helghan.

The Mobile Scan Unit is a tracked vehicle that is mainly stationary. It has a tall proximity scanner that constantly scans the area for any hostile. Once it has detected hostiles, the Scan Unit will pursue its target relentlessly and using its minigun to pin down an enemy long enough for it to move right on top of them.
If the MSU lose its visual on a target, it uses its proximity scanner to try and reacquire the target. It is invulnerable to heavy AT Missiles and EMP blasts, and could only be destroyed by overloading its external power source.
