Ryan Grant is a half-Helghast actor working in Vekta City. He is mentioned in Killzone Shadow Fall.
Biography[]
Ryan Grant was widely recognized for his role as the protagonist Clifford Rex of the popular TV series Solar Dawn. In 2390, Grant reprised Clifford Rex in the film adaptation of Solar Dawn, the first film of a planned hexalogy.[1] Days after the successful release of Solar Dawn, an unnamed source revealed to the Vektan public that Grant was Helghast by birth. The anti-Helghast Vektan public reacted very negatively to the revelations in which Solar Dawn quickly bombed, with some theaters pulling the film altogether after threats of violence, and Grant was repeatedly pressured by the public to confirm his nationality.[2]
Grant was later among the thousands of Helghast living on Vekta that were deported to New Helghan in response to the Black Hand terrorist attack on Vekta City. Ryan's legal team tried to fight for their client, but a positive outcome was seem to be unlikely.[3] After Grant's deportation, Raydiant Pictures, the studio behind Solar Dawn, was given permission by the New Helghan government to release a special cut of Solar Dawn in Helghast theaters in which it regained its popularity.[4]
On August 5, 2390, Grant won an appeal to return him to Vekta after a judge ruled that Ryan did not willfully misled anyone about his Helghast paternity. With Solar Dawn having been screened in Vekta and New Helghan, Ryan regained his celebrity status with a doubled fanbase.[5]
