Salamun Bridge is the fifth level of Killzone 2.

Plot

Avenger Convoy begin their advance on Salamun Bridge, the only remaining bridge over the Corinth River, but find it heavily defended by the Helghast in which they raise the bridge. Sev and several ISA infantry find an alternative route to the bridge controls and lowers the bridge. After a fierce battle, the convoy finally crosses.

Alpha Squad soon receives news that Colonel Mael Radec has set up his headquarters in Radec Academy. Hoping to capture Radec, Alpha Squad leaves the convoy, as it pushes on toward Visari Palace. As Alpha approaches the Academy, they discover a large hole in the ground as the result of a large explosion that happened during the battle on the bridge. In the hole is a ruptured pipe that is used to pump an unknown (to the ISA) energy. Alpha storms the Academy but find Radec is absent. Instead, they fell into a trap in which they faced against an ATAC. Sev is separated from his squad and destroys the ATAC by himself. After destroying the ATAC, Sev and Alpha Squad rejoins Narville's convoy.

As the convoy advances, Radec unleashed another Helghast weapon, an Arc Pillar. The weapon destroys much of the convoy. Similar weapons are being deployed around the city, preventing the ISA's advance on the palace. Alpha contacts Colonel Jan Templar and explains the situation. Evelyn Batton informs Templar and Alpha that the pillars are being powered by the same energy source as the Arc Towers, Petrusite. She and her team tracked the electrical signature of the pipelines Sev and Garza discovered to old refineries in the Helghan wastelands. Templar orders Alpha to accompany Evelyn to find the source of the Petrusite and shut down the city's defenses.
