The StA-52SE is ideal for stealthy players who choose to ambush their opponents or pick them off at longer ranges without showing up on radar. The StA-52SE's five round burst makes it a much more effective weapon up close and is not relegated to predominately long range encounters.

The StA-52 can also be a room clearance weapon in the hands of a Infiltrator where the combination of movement speed and ability to stay off the radar are extremely effective. Due to being a burst fire weapon, players has to be mindful of the StA-52's ammo consumption.

The StA-52's long range accuracy is a small issue and players are recommended to crouch before firing for maximum accuracy. Because of the weapon's recoil is slightly less, it is somewhat easier to maintain round grouping at range.

The StA-52SE is, with the exception of the reload animation, largely the same gun as seen in Killzone 3, although it is now fully automatic. The fitted silencer keeps players off the radar. This, combined with the weapon's high rate of fire, make it ideal for run-and-gun play styles as well as stealth, and can be used to silently clear an area as none of the enemies can hear the gun when it is shooting.
