Is the UCN Federal Government or is it a Collective Body?[]
Here is a question. Is the United Colonial Nations more like the United States (Where each state, or in this case a planet, has its own laws only bond by a Federal Constitution), Or is it like the real United Nations (Where each state retains its own soverignty, which the UCN can not oversee). Some one help me out here.
I think that UCN is a Federal Government, beacause that in this page is stated that is the current ruling governmente of Earth. Most probably, due to the size of the planet, the UCN is divided in many regions, (like states) to a better management of the planet.

It is quite possible that while Earth has mostly been unified under a single world government it is possible that some powerfull countries like the United States and Russia may hold some sovereignty. Kinda like in the tv show Space Above and beyond where the United Nations has mostly unified the world but still relies on the United States for military protection.

Does anyone else view the UCN as the true "evil" in killzone, or am I alone in this camp?66.210.134.30 19:50, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
Although all of the governments in the Killzone canon are evil in one way or another, the UCN is definitely the source of all of the evil in Killzone. The First Extrasolar War, which of course led to the rise of Visari, was sparked because the Helghan corporation had a huge influence over the interplanetary economy (they only had that power because the UCN gave them a shitload of money), and the UCN passed increasingly strict regulations and taxes on space travel. Because of this, the Helghan corporation was about to secede from the UCN, which the bureaucrats in the UCN did not like at all. The UCN started the First Extrasolar War because the Helghan corporation wanted financial freedom.

Nearly all the ills in the series boil down to in some way being caused by the UCN. Not only did the UCN cause the F.E.W. but after the higs were pushed off of Vekta in the second war, the UCN planned to put all the blame on the ISA, even though the UCN was responsible for Visari's rise, and most of the hardships the helghast suffered in the interwar period. The UCN definitely has issues, but I don't think we should add contributor opinions. If someone wants to write that there are people in-universe who see it as tyrannical, be my guest. Same goes if anyone wants to relate it to the UN in the trivia section. I'm just saying that we should give things more thought and patience, you know?--Mike Gilbert 02:26, July 16, 2014 (UTC)
