Yasen Vink was a Helghast worker who worked on the ISC Cassandra.
Biography[]
Yasen made an audiolog addressed to his mother, which he explained how the Vektans on the ship do not treated their Helghast counterparts as equals, but he and his comrades just got on with their business. This attitude gained them a lot of respect from the Vektan crew, but he acknowledged his mother's warnings: the Vektans will never accept them completely. He said that the harder they worked, the more insults were flinged at them. It began as subtle jabs, but then, as the Vektans became more comfortable with them, the insults intensified. Yasen was barely able to contain himself, but he thought he made a mistake.
He then finished the audiolog by saying to his mother to tell his father what he endured on the ship. Yasen still hoped that his father would change his mind and one day cross The Wall. He also said that no matter what, the life in the Vektan side of the planet was far better than the life on New Helghan.[1]
Trivia[]
